FIVE SAX began as a street music act, performing in the heart of Vienna. After an unforgettable first year, they decided it was time to bring their performance from street to stage, taking their new show, Sax Voyage on its maiden journey. The following years brought the quintet to the five corners of the world with over 150 stops throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas and prestigious halls such as the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Teatro del Lago in Chile, the Musikverein Vienna, the National Concert Hall in Taiwan, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
The ensemble’s imaginative programming mirrors the diversity of its members, venturing from classical music to European folk dances, American jazz and South American Latin styles. Always looking for new ways to entertain their audience, FIVE SAX uses humor, theatre elements and choreography to highlight their musical performances.
Since their debut in Hong Kong in 2016, FIVE SAX, an international group of five saxophonists, has garnered widespread acclaim for their unique charm and captivating performances. This year, the Hong Kong International Saxophone Society has invited FIVE SAX to return to Hong Kong as the grand finale of their August tour, offering music lovers a one-of-a-kind experience.
The concert program features a diverse selection of music, including dynamic Broadway musical highlights, elegantly moving Chinese classic melodies, and familiar jazz masterpieces. With their exceptional skill and passion, FIVE SAX will immerse the audience in the boundless allure of music.
